Anna Laetitia Barbauld (pronounced /bɑrˈboʊld/, by herself possibly /bɑrˈboʊ/, as in French) (née Aikin) (20 June 1743 – 9 March 1825) was a prominent eighteenth-century English poet, essayist, and children's author.
