William Holden Hutton was Dean of Winchester in the early decades of the twentieth century.[1] He was educated at Magdalen College, Oxford and graduated in 1881[2]. He was a Tutor and Fellow at St John's College, Oxford[3], Reader in Indian History at the University and finally (before his elevation to the Deanery) Archdeacon of Northampton and Canon Residentiary of Peterborough Cathedral[4]. An eminent author[5], he died on 24 October 1930[6].
